MUSIC

is everything to me

For me, music is something that enhances all facets of life, whether I’m making it or listening to it. And I’m usually doing one or the other.

Having made music all my life, I’ve been releasing albums under the name Alpha Chrome Yayo since 2018.

And now I’m working full time as a composer and sound designer for a whole bunch of really cool things.

I love the feeling of creating something new and exciting, and few things make me happier than awesome people involving my music in their day to day lives.

Whether that’s listening to it in a game they’re digging, or vibing out to it while they’re doing the dishes, it’s something that I’m hugely appreciative of and grateful for.

GENRE

WHAT’S THAT?

I don’t think ‘genre’ is a dirty word. It can be an extremely useful thing, when I’m searching for new music to be inspired by or considering how to approach an album or commission.

But I also think that genres are best when they’re subverted, twisted. Stretched beyond their elastic limit.

For me, that’s when music really stands out from the crowd and forges into exciting, untrodden territory.

That’s why I love working across a bunch of styles, from brain-searing jazz to zen flute soundscapes.

BANDCAMP

is my musical home

I love when people listen to my music anywhere they can find it.

But DIY platform Bandcamp is always the best place to check out my albums. I love their emphasis on treating musicians and listeners with respect and fairness, and support on there helps me loads. I’m very thankful for it and I love the strong community element.

I’ve got a whole lot of releases on there, and it’s also the best place to grab any ACY merch and physical releases, as well as live-stream shows. You can check out a few of my personal favourites below.
